The rapper’s set to release two albums in June, a solo effort and a collaboration with Kid Cudi
It’s been two years since he released his last album, The Life of Pablo, with the tour making headlines for all the wrong reasons when he was hospitalised in the middle of it for psychiatric evaluation. But now a healthy and happy Kanye West has returned to Twitter to reveal he’ll be releasing two new albums in June.
In a series of tweets, West announced that his first album will be seven songs long and called Turbo Grafx 16 after “one of my favourite gaming systems when I was a kid”, and would be released on June 1; while a second album, a collaboration with fellow rapper, Kid Cudi, would follow on June 8. And Kanye also revealed that he had started a new group with Cudi, called Kids See Ghost.
And while it’s not known who’ll be featured on either of his albums, the rapper has recently been spotted in and around the studio with a string of high profile names, including, Migos, Big Sean, Lil Yachty, Vic Mensa, Mike Dean, Pete Rock, Yasiin Bey, Pusha T, The-Dream, Travis Scott and Dave Chappelle, who may all be making an appearance.
We can’t wait to play the tracks from these two new albums at Dubai beach club, Drai’s beach club and night club!
Oh, and did we also mention that he’s writing a philosophy book in tweet form? Check out his twitter @kanyewest for his pearls of, erm, wisdom.
